The Nissan GT-R was designed to be one of the world's most exciting and inexpensive super cars on the planet but there was just one problem. The launch control was pathetic. There were several complaints that trans axles were exploding and Nissan was not picking up the bill. In 2011, Nissan decided it would remove the launch control completely and revamp it. Good News!!! The revamp is done and the 2012 model has launch control and its better than ever. The GT-R now revs to 4,000RPM and the car's ECU will allow four launches in a short amount of time before shutting down the system. It shuts down the system to ensure it does not overheat and damage parts. Once the parts cool down the driver can re-engage the system again.

Since the production of the R33 Skyline in Japan during the 1990s the 4-door Skyline became a big hit with performance driven drivers. The following continued with the release of the R34 in the late 90s through the early 2000s. When Nissan decided to create a new Skyline dubbed GT-R in 2008 enthusiasts were skeptical that a 4-door version would be released. Well it looks like Nissan has taken the vehicle one step further and wants to release it under the Inifiniti brand to compete with the AMG, M Series, and RS Series vehicles in the luxury segment. Details are sketchy at best but it looks like the new GT-R will use the same dual-clutch gearbox with transaxle but the engine will be replaced with the VK50VE from the FX50 Infiniti crossover. Thanks to LeftLaneNews.com we have these spy photos for your enjoyment.
